How to get people to give you money with large donations

A study was conducted in the form of charity giving. This is a psychological study on what happens in the brain when someone decides to give their approval to provide money to a charity.  What these researchers did was that they told two different stories to a group of research participants.

The first story that they told when something like this is a young boy with cancer has to have chemotherapy treatments. It was challenging for him, but eventually, he got successful chemotherapy treatment, but at the same time, there is something that is lingering in the background.

Now, he is feeling happy and better. He is playing with his toys, but his father looks down from the window at his son playing with his toys. He sees him so happy, but at the back of his mind, the father knows that the child is dying.

He knows that in the next six months or the following year he is going to die. Unfortunately, this is the condition that he is in and just because of the disease. The ailment that he has even though they had chemotherapy treatment, the father knows in the back of his head that his child will die.

The father finds it difficult to play with the kid when he has this knowledge and be happy knowing that will be eventual and will happen very soon. However, the child is looking up to his father, smiling, and enjoying the moment.

Baffling with mind over empathy

Life is so transient. All our lives are concise. We get to spend these fuse, and precious moments with the people we care about and almost at that moment because of the story told to these research participants.

The father almost is feeling the emotional weight of the experience. Still, the child is going through the experience the father feels like he is dying the emotions of what you feel like dying.

But at the same time, the child does not feel that the father has such high empathy. The father feels like he is dying along with the child.

The research conducted a study on this depressive story. Let us see what different things happen:

The directories linked to encouraging donations

The hormonal response in the kid’s brain and analyzed the functional magnetic resonance imaging with the brain. It was found that Cortisol was released when people were listening to and watching this story, and that led to a feeling of distress.

The other thing that released was Oxytocin which is meant to conduct empathy. When people watched and heard the story, they filled with distress and empathy. The distress came to see his father’s feelings for his dying son and empathy in the father’s mind for concern for his kid’s future.

Then the researchers checked how people responded to the story and what pledge they are ready to make for helping children with different ailments with the will to give money. An overwhelming majority of the people decided to give money to support such kids.

The emotions of distress and empathy in the people show a group of participants who pledge to raise money help to the kids with such incurable ailments. When they heard about the brain, which is the most sensitive part of the body, treatments can be minimized with financial help.

The story of a poor father and his short-lived son filled most people’s minds with care and empathy towards the story’s characters and the negative emotions. They think giving money to that person or the father can help alleviate the cause of the suffering.

They even ask for financial help on their behalf such as loans without guarantor from direct lenders to provide a helping hand to such needy.

Conclusion

The act of giving money to someone is in a state of distress. They are feeling negative emotions due to the story; they almost think like they want to help the person and feel so bad for them. This is a subtle thing that no one will tell you other than yourself by giving money.
