Process of Dye Sublimation Printing

by

The process of dye sublimation printing is used when printers need a very thick and vivid color to display on their documents, posters and other items. Before the introduction of this technology, printing was limited to sheets of paper which have been printed with digital inkjet printer heads. But with the advancement of technology, different types of flatbed scanners as well as printing machines were developed that required different types of inks. However, they still used the traditional processes of using a pigment in a printing medium and transferring that pigment onto the surface of the paper or other media. In order to have a colorful image, they would have to use a number of tools in conjunction with the printing press.

For one, stencils would be used which are defined as two curved pieces of wood which are placed over the area that is to be printed. With the help of these stencils, the desired design can be created accurately. The printout from the printer can then be formulated using various pigments depending on the image that is to be created. One good example of the process involves the dye test which is often referred to as the dye test or the dye lot test. It is primarily used in areas where permanent colors are required such as the interior part of industrial furniture and in the signage of buildings and road signs.

Another popular process of printer related dyeing is the screen printing or the spot color process. In this process, a screen is stretched over a glass plate. Various colors of ink are then poured onto this glass plate which forms a semi-transparent image on it. This image is what the printer uses as the image material. This process is mainly used for text books, flyers, images and many more things which need to be printed. This is also the main process used in the movies especially in Hollywood films wherein movies are mostly made in this manner.

The final process is known as solid India printing machine. In this technology, a pigment mixture is applied on the screen. After the screen has been stretched and cooled, it is then coated with various other materials such as vinyl film, foil, paper and also plastics. The final product is then made up of numerous colored spots which form the final image that is produced by the printer. This type of printing machine is mostly used in the places such as packaging as well as in the films.

Basically, any printing machine that uses dye sublimation technology is a Dye Sublimation Printer. It may come with different names but the core concept remains the same. These types of printers have various processes that include the following. First, the ink is loaded into the dye sublimation printer through an injection system.

After this is done, the printer starts to spray the color on the image that is to be printed. In the next process, a releasing agent is sprayed on the image so that it can be easily pulled out from the printer. Once the image is pulled out, the spot that is affected is automatically filled with a new color. This whole process takes few minutes to finish each time. The results are quite impressive with the high quality printed images that you will get.
